VICA invites you to join us for this informative 90 minute program (including Q&A session) that will cover Medicare and Medicare health plans. Failure to follow the rules or knowing your options can prove costly to you and to your client or employee.
What this session will cover
- Medicare Basics: Part A, B, C, D everyone needs a refresher.
- When you should sign up for Medicare and when you should not
- Late enrollment penalties.
- Medicare health plan options: Medicare supplement, Medicare Advantage plans, Part D plans, retiree health plans.
- What to do when you or your employee reach 65 and are still on the company group plan.
- What you should tell an employee who terminates off your group plan and is over 65.
- How COBRA works or doesn’t work for someone over 65
- Do you offer to pay COBRA premiums for someone laid off. Why you should not if they are over 65.
- IRMAA: Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount. Extra cost for Part B and D based on your Modified Adjusted Gross Income. What you can do to mitigate or reduce this.
- How often you should shop your plan.
