  • VICA Celebrates the Extension of Film and TV Incentives

    Van Nuys, Calif. – The Valley Industry & Commerce Association (VICA) applauds the Legislature and Governor Jerry Brown for extending the California Film and Television Tax Credit from its original sunset date. This tax credit has been an important investment for California and has brought billions of dollars and jobs back into the state. VICA strongly supported this extension, which will stimulate economic growth and prosperity.
    VICA President Stuart Waldman said:
    “VICA was proud to have supported the extension of the California Film and Television Tax Credit, which will allow California to remain competitive in the film and television industry. With this extension, we will continue the growth of film production that California has seen over the last few years.
    “This tax credit has a proven track record for creating and keeping jobs in the film industry. This extension will maintain and support the economic vitality brought to California and to the greater San Fernando Valley region by film and television projects.
    “The Valley has a long history with the film and TV industry and this tax credit will help support below-the-line middle-class jobs in one of California’s most iconic industries. We’d like to express our gratitude to the California Legislature and Governor Brown for recognizing the importance of sustaining the film and television industry in California.”
