  • Governor Signs Expensive, Risky Energy Mandate

    • Share:
Van Nuys, Calif. – The Valley Industry & Commerce Association (VICA) is disappointed that SB 100 (de León), has been signed by Governor Brown. By increasing California’s Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS) requirement from 50 percent to 60 percent by 2030, this bill adds expensive and unfeasible mandates on energy production in California.
    VICA President Stuart Waldman said:
“Low-cost, reliable energy is critical to California employers and families. The governor has signed a bill that jeopardizes energy choice, affordability and reliability.
“Experts know that 100 percent renewable energy simply isn’t feasible without increasing rates to unaffordable levels for small businesses and families. This is ridiculous!”
The mission of the Valley Industry & Commerce Association (VICA) is to enhance the economic vitality of the greater San Fernando Valley region by advocating for a better business climate and quality of life. Visit www.vica.com for more information.
